  • Inspiration of the Scripture – We believe all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is therefore the infallible Word of God.           (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)

  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God – We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, took upon Himself the form of man, that He might offer Himself a sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of the whole world.  We believe no man can come unto the Father but by and through the Lord Jesus Christ, and His shed blood.                (St. John 1:18; I Timothy 3:16; St.John 14:6)

  • Repentance – We believe that pardon and forgiveness of sins is obtained by genuine repentance, a confessing and forsaking of ourselves as sinners and that a definite turning is essential to salvation. (Acts 17:30; Acts 26:20; Acts 11:18; Acts 2:38-39;                             I Thessalonians 1:9-10)

  • Justification and Redemption and What it Means – We believe our redemption has been accomplished solely by the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made sin for us, dying in our stead, rising again from the dead, ascending with His glorified body to the right hand of God, and by believing in this finished work, we are justified before God, cleansed of all our sins and redeemed from the curse of the law. (Romans 5:1; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:13; I Peter 1:18-19;    Titus 2:14; Revelations 5:9)

  • Water Baptism – We believe the scriptural mode of baptism is immersion in water and is only for those who have fully repented. It should be performed by a duly authorized minister of the Gospel, in obedience to the Word of God, and in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures; and practiced by the early Apostolic Church.  (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48Acts 19:5; Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:12; I Peter 3:21)

  • Baptism of the Holy Ghost – We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance in accordance with the Scriptures.  John the Baptist declared, “He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with Fire” - Matt 3:11.  Jesus Christ said “Ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence” - Acts 1:5.   The promise of the Holy Ghost is extended to all believers, not just for the early church. (Mark 16:16-17;                  I Corinthians 14:21; Isaiah 28:11-12; Luke 24:49; St John 14:15-17;     Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4, Acts 2:39, Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:1-6)

The Articles of Faith of the Bethlehem Apostolic Church are:

  • Divine Healing – We believe the vicarious suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ paid not only for the salvation of our souls but also for the healing of our bodies.  As stated in scripture “By his stripes ye are healed” - Isaiah 53:5 and “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” - Matthew 8:17.  The Ministry of Healing by the practice of Laying of Hands was carried out by the Apostles and is to be continued in the church. (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:5; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-15; Hebrews 13:8)

  • The Lord’s Supper or Communion – We believe that all Followers of Christ should partake of the Lord’s Supper (or communion), in remembrance of Jesus’ death until He returns.  (Luke 22:19-20; Matthew 26:29; I Corinthians 11:23-34)

  • The Gifts of the Spirit – We believe in the gifts of the Spirit that they should be manifested in the Church today and that all Spirit filled believers should earnestly covet the best gifts for the perfecting of the saints and the edifying of the body of Christ. (I Corinthians 12:8-11 I Corinthians 14:1; Ephesians 4:11 - 13)

  • The Final Judgement – We believe that there will be a great final judgement, as recorded in the Word of God.  (Hebrews 9:27; Revelations 20:11-15)   This is the judgement of the unjust where all the wicked are judged.

  • Rewards – We believe the bible clearly teaches us a distinct judgement for believers only, spoken of in the scriptures as the Judgement Seat of Christ, where believer’s works will be judged, (not for their sins) and rewards are in question, not salvation.                  II Corinthians 5:10; I Corinthians 3:11-15; Revelations 20:4-6).
